The center specializes in research and development as well as implementation projects, aiming to upgrade the existing as well as to develop cutting-edge solutions and seeking to bring advanced technologies to building materials and glass industry.

 

 

The Center operates in the area of:

  • scientific research and development covering a range of areas:
    • mineral binders,
    • finishing building materials,
    • concrete, mortars and aggregates,
    • commercial glass, 
    • flat glass and insulated glazing,
    • broadly defined closed-loop economy for the building materials industry, improvement of energy-efficient production processes,
    • economic use of post-industrial waste in clean production technologies,
    • impact assessment of emissions from production processes on the natural and human environment,
    • reduction of CO2 emissions in the manufacturing industry.
  • laboratory testing, accredited and non-accredited, primarily of raw materials, binders, building materials and glass, including acoustic and fire safety testing,
  • research, expertise, opinions and scientific and technical services commissioned by companies,
  • certification of the constancy of performance and conformity of factory production control,
  • standardization activities,
  • issuing national and European technical assessments as a technical assessment body,
  • approval procedures of automotive glass products,
  • trial production runs and pilot plant trials including: 
    •  construction materials, 
    • glass and ceramic coatings,
    • mechanical and thermal processing of raw materials and aggregates,
  • trial production of laboratory apparatus.
